By accessing or using NearPew ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
NearPew is a mutual aid coordination platform that helps parish communities connect members who need help with those who can provide it. The Service facilitates connections but does not itself provide the underlying assistance.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service
- You must be located in the United States
- You must provide accurate and complete registration information
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
5. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Use the Service for illegal purposes
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
- Collect user information without consent
- Use the Service for commercial solicitation
6. Community Guidelines
When participating in a parish community, you agree to:
- Treat all members with dignity and respect
- Post only genuine needs and offers
- Follow through on commitments made through matches
- Communicate honestly with coordinators and matched members
- Report any concerns or inappropriate behavior
7. Coordinator Responsibilities
Community coordinators agree to:
- Review membership requests fairly and promptly
- Handle member information confidentially
- Create matches in good faith based on needs and availability
- Address reported issues within their community
- Not misuse access to member information
8. Limitation of Liability
NearPew is a platform that facilitates connections. We are not responsible for:
- The quality or safety of help provided between members
- Actions or conduct of any user
- Disputes between members
- Any loss or damage arising from use of the Service
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NearPew and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.
